Two students from Québec recognized for excellence at the INTEL ISEF

Eunice Linh You,16 from Laval Liberty High school, and Mingsha Zhou,  18 from Marionnopolis College, won a prestigious awards at the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), held from May 13 to 18 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.


For her Science Fair project , entitled Dig Deeper – Effect on Insecticides on soil Components, Eunice Linh You won a Second place Award with a $ 1,500 bursary presented by INTEL in the Environmental Sciences category.

 

Mingsha Zhou earned a Certificate of Honorable Mention from the American Statistical Association for her project entitled Rapid Evolution of Brown Trout in the Kerguelen Islands.

Intel ISEF is a prestigious international competition that welcomed 1,500 young innovators, selected from among more than 7 million high school students who competed in local science fairs in 65 countries from around the world. The presence of young Quebecers at this event is was made possible by the Educational Alliance for Science and Technology (EAST) (Eunice, Mingsha & Meagan) and by Youth Science Canada (Jean-Michel).
